Peradeniya Medical School Alumni Association (PeMSAA)
Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of PeMSAA - The Peradeniya Medical School Alumni Association - University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
The Peradeniya Medical School Alumni Association (PeMSAA) is the first such medical alumni association that was established in Sri Lanka and is very much a part of our faculty which is actively engaged in the medical education welfare of the faculty and medical students.
Among many activities, the crowning moment is the International Medical Congress held every two years. Twelve such successful International Medical Congresses have been held from 1992. The last one (12th) was held in 2014. In 2017, the PeMSAA will mark the 25th Silver Jubilee and the 13th International Medical Congress (Silver Jubilee) between 5th to 8th January 2017 at Peradeniya.
President's Message
The Peradeniya Medical School Alumni Association (PeMSAA) was established in 1992 as the first alumni association of a medical school in Sri Lanka. The idea for its creation was initiated by a few members of the first undergraduate batch. What began as a modest organization has now grown into a global network, with chapters in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, and Bhutan. The Faculty of Medicine at Peradeniya, which has been in existence for over 63 years, has produced numerous alumni who are now serving in various parts of the world, contributing significantly to the well-being of humanity.
I am very proud and humbled to be elected as President of such an esteemed organization. It is with great humility and honor that I accept the role of the 17th President of PeMSAA for the next two years. I take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to my predecessors and their councils for their outstanding contributions to bring PeMSAA to what it is today. Their vision and dedication have taken PeMSAA from strength to strength. I am pleased to announce that both the council and the broader membership have pledged their unwavering support, and I look forward to working alongside them to elevate PeMSAA to even greater heights.
